Amazing women can be found within our families, circle of friends, at our place of business, and in our communities. They contribute to our lives in deep and profound ways. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we must still find time to honor all of the women that touch our lives

Here's how, in 5 meaningful ways:

1. Make Birthdays Special

Your calendar should include the birthday of every woman that you value. It’s easy to send a gift or write a text but these are not meaningful ways to celebrate the women that matter to you. Start seeing birthdays as a reason to celebrate face to face.

Begin by calling that birthday girl on the actual day. With close family and friends you might plan something ahead of time. If you haven’t made any plans to celebrate, make some during that birthday phone call. Not just a promise to “meet up sometime” but rather an actual date, time, and place. Then follow through on that and give the gift of your time and attention.

2. Celebrate The Achievements Of Women

There is an ugly side of human nature that makes us jealous of the success that other women achieve. We all have that little voice that asks “Why not me?” which makes us want to minimize the victories of other women. Fight that urge and respond with kindness instead.

Are men excluded from this? Of course not. But if anyone needs that extra support it’s women simply because the world just loves to tear us down! We all have our struggles, insecurities, and failures. Just remember that the success of another woman won't take away from the blessings that are meant for you.

3. Invest In Women

Help the women around you succeed by investing in them. Support a woman-owned business or make a donation to a charity that helps women.

Short on funds? Why not invest your time instead? Help a new mom by lending a hand around the house. Listen to a friend that’s trying to vet a new business idea. Volunteer at a local women’s shelter. Sometimes time is even more valuable than money.

4. Learn The Signs Of Domestic Violence

Victims of domestic violence and abuse are not always easy to spot. Friends and family are often shocked to learn that someone in their lives is being abused. That’s why we should all learn to spot the signs and educate ourselves so that we know what to do if someone we know is in trouble.

5. Write A Thank You Note

What better way to express gratitude than in the form of a thank you letter or card? So much of our correspondence is done electronically that we hardly ever get anything in the mail other than bad news: i.e., bills and junk.

A simple thank you is nice but a sincere, thoughtful expression of gratitude in a letter that can be read and reread is so much more meaningful. So take the time and really think about what you want to say. Everyone deserves to feel appreciated.
